Nathan is a Partner at XReg Consulting where he leads on training, regulatory audits, cryptoasset investigations and technical matters such as DeFi. An authority on global regulatory affairs for both the private and public sectors, he has consulted some of the largest crypto exchanges in the world on matters of regulatory strategy and licensing.

Since joining XReg, Nathan has advised a prominent Gulf region on the formulation of a national risk assessment for virtual asset and virtual asset service providers in line with FATF methodology. He has also provided extensive technical training to regulators, law enforcement agencies and financial intelligence units. Nathan presents on the topic of global cryptoasset regulation at top tier industry conferences. He was a moderator at Crypto Bahamas (April ’22) and a speaker at the Global Conference on Criminal Finances and Cryptocurrencies (December ’21), a joint initiative of the Basel Institute on Governance, INTERPOL, and Europol.

An FCAA qualified accountant and a former regulator and technical specialist at the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC), Nathan played a critical role in the development of the GFSC’s internal regulatory policies and procedures which considered technical and emerging aspects of the DLT industry. While working at PwC, he spearheaded a working group that assisted the regulator in Gibraltar with the development of financial resource requirements for DLT providers.

Nathan is also trained in cryptoasset investigations by one of the largest blockchain analytics companies and qualified as a Certified Blockchain Expert from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
